My Story
If you've found your way here, there is a good chance you've spent a lot of your life taking care of everyone else.
Maybe you're the woman who appears to have it all together on the outside but feels exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected on the inside. Maybe you're navigating relationship challenges, carrying the weight of perfectionism, struggling with anxiety, or trying to figure out who you are beyond your responsibilities. Perhaps you're a parent worried about your teen, or a couple longing to reconnect after life has gotten in the way.
Wherever you are in your journey, I want you to know that you don't have to navigate it alone.
My name is Alyssa Scott, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Career Counselor, Qualified Supervisor, educator, and holistic wellness practitioner. While my credentials have provided me with extensive training and experience, what has shaped me most is my genuine passion for understanding people and helping them reconnect with themselves.
I have always been deeply empathic. Long before I had language for it, I could feel the emotions, struggles, and unspoken experiences of the people around me. What I once viewed as sensitivity eventually became one of my greatest strengths. Today, that ability allows me to sit with people in their most vulnerable moments and help them feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
The sunflower has become a meaningful symbol throughout my life and work. Sunflowers naturally turn toward the light, even during difficult seasons. To me, they represent resilience, hope, growth, and the belief that healing is possible even when life feels heavy. They remind us that while we may not control every circumstance, we can continue reaching toward what nourishes and strengthens us.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, holistic, and deeply human. I believe healing happens within safe relationships, not through judgment or shame. I strive to create a space where clients can show up exactly as they are—without needing to have all the answers.
I work with women, teens, couples, helping professionals, high achievers, and individuals navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, perfectionism, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, trauma, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients are strong, capable people who have spent years caring for others while neglecting themselves.
My work integrates evidence-based counseling approaches with holistic practices that support the mind, body, and nervous system. Depending on a client's goals, this may include cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, somatic awareness, nature-based therapy, sound healing, emotional regulation skills, and strengths-based approaches that empower lasting growth.
What makes my work different is that I don't believe people need to be "fixed." I believe they need space to reconnect with who they already are beneath the stress, fear, expectations, and life experiences that may have pulled them away from themselves.
Whether we are meeting in a traditional therapy session, walking together during a nature-based session, exploring personal growth, or working through a difficult life transition, my goal remains the same: to help you feel more grounded, empowered, connected, and aligned with the life you want to create.
It is an honor to walk alongside people during some of the most important chapters of their lives, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as well.
